Mimsy Sims

Mimsy Sims got their start over a decade ago as an apprentice out of the local Wood Tech Center and quickly became part of Métis Construction’s founding story — one of the original worker-owners and a member of the interim board that helped ratify the company’s first bylaws. As the original shop manager, Mims helped shape the operations that would define Métis for years to come.

After stepping away in 2018 to focus on family and explore new horizons, Sims returned in 2022 with seasoned hands and renewed perspective. Since then, they’ve not only excelled as a production and finish carpenter but also developed the truck program, scheduling systems, and the Colorado Street shop into a thriving operations hub.

Before the trades, Mims was an artist, musician, community organizer, and restaurant professional — a creative foundation that continues to inform their craftsmanship, leadership, and collaborative spirit on every project.
