Adrian Cook
Carpenter

Adrian’s passion for building began at a young age while growing up on Whidbey Island, where he helped construct his family’s homestead and assisted friends with their home projects. While earning his Associate of Arts and Science degree at Everett Community College, he worked as a carpenter apprentice and fine woodworker, gaining hands-on experience remodeling apartment complexes and working at Puget Sound Woodworking, a fine woodworking school.
After completing his degree, Adrian took on the role of head woodworker and shop manager at a pipe organ shop while also working as a small-scale general contractor for remodels. When layoffs hit due to COVID-19, he transitioned to Fluid Motion, where he worked as a cabinet maker and interior installer while collaborating with the engineering design team to develop new yacht models.
Adrian later reunited with his mentor, Derrick Burke, at Blue Sound Construction (BSC) as a full-time carpenter. His dedication and expertise quickly earned him a promotion to foreman/lead carpenter, where he successfully managed multiple million-dollar projects.
In 2023, while at BSC, Adrian pursued a Commercial Construction Project Management Certification at the University of Washington. To fund his education, he took on independent projects, which ultimately led him to meet Andy Madden in the program. After collaborating on several class projects, Andy introduced Adrian to Mētis, where he was thrilled to join the team.
Adrian brings a wealth of experience in building techniques, sequencing, construction safety, and craftsmanship to Mētis, always striving for excellence in every project.
When he’s not working or studying, Adrian can be found whitewater rafting, rock climbing, camping, sailing, fishing, and foraging for mushrooms—anything that involves the great outdoors!
